Zola Pal Massimo Cellino To Buy West Ham !?
By: Marco Stucazzo | January 14th, 2010
Cagliari President\Owner Massimo Cellino is reportedly on the verge of taking over as West Ham’s new owner. Cellino has come out of nowhere in this Londonian\Icelandic saga. He has seemingly met West Ham’s bankers Rothschilds and impressed representatives of the club’s owners Straumer.
The BBC and Sun report that Mr. Cellino, who officially resides in Miami, is currently in London hoping to complete his audacious swoop by the weekend ! He took in a QPR game alongside Flavio Briatore and then seemingly hopped from cab to cab, going from one lawyer firm to another to wrap up the deal ASAP.
Sources close to Cellino have stated Cagliari’s president told his lawyers ; “I want to save the team. I want to close the deal soon.”
Add to that a West Ham insider confirming that ; “Cellino is a very serious player. He has done all his homework, met with all the relevant people and been very convincing. He will take some stopping
The Hammers are currently owned by CB Holding, the main shareholder in CB Holding is Icelandic bank Straumur, which has indicated West Ham are £38m in debt. But that’s not enough to scare off a guy like Massimo Cellino
Italian paper, Corriere Dello Sport, is reporting that Cellino is ready to invest 70 Million Euros for the takeover. This is pissing off Birmingham owners Gold and Sullivan, who thought their £50million bid was enough to seal the deal quickly. Not to mention the other two takeover contenders – US-based outfit Intermarket and Lotus F1 team boss and Air Asia founder, Tony Fernandez, who now have their panties in a bunch.
Alessandro Diamanti on the field, Gianfranco Zola on the bench, Sporting Director Gianluca Nani and Massimo Cellino presiding over things.
And what does Mr. Cellino have to say about all this ? ‘’ Mi dispiace, non vi posso dire niente ‘’ – Sorry, I can’t say nothin’ about nothin’
Roberto Mancini,Carlo Ancelotti, Gianfranco Zola, Cappello… The ‘’Made in Italy’’ brand is clearly en vogue in the EPL

Wow. Really hope this happens, Zola deserves better than getting his best players sold every transfer window.

Makes you kind of wonder that if he has 70 million euro to spend on West Ham he could use that money to invest in Cagliari and make them a much better team.

ROTFL!!
Cellino has no money at all!!
For his Italian team, Cagliari, he spended very little money in more than 15 years! He went to live in the USA in order to escape taxes in Italy.

@ ROTFL & Francesco : I’m pretty sure an investment in London has a higher return potential than one in Cagliari that has a population of 160,000….
